Information Optimization

Contextual Intelligence

Few thoughts are original ideas. This means that when information is generated, it often is generated based on past information or insights.  When a user is then faced with the challenge of researching a topic or finding an answer to a topic they often need more than just a single piece of information.  They want all the past knowledge captured around an idea to understand what has been done in the past to better adapt to the future.  This is why it is critical to deliver contextual intelligence around information to drive greater business insight for your users.  Velocity delivers contextual insight through its ability to combine the worlds of structured and unstructured information, intuitive navigation tools and relevant information to users based on their needs.

Combining Structured & Unstructured

In almost all organizations, information can be divided between structured information (financial records, customer data, sales statistics, etc.) and the unstructured (design documents, market intelligence information, customer case reports, etc.) and far too often users access the content separately.  The barrier between these data sources is artificial and based on a technical limitation not a use limitation.  Velocity erases the distinction to deliver contextual intelligence and true information optimization to provide users a comprehensive view of all information to drive actionable insights.

Navigation

Information that is delivered to the end-user through Velocity is organized visually to give users the big picture for a faster, more thorough exploration of information.   Simple, yet powerful controls such as the ability to navigate by topical categories created on the fly (clustering), by metadata or facets, by data repository, by entity and by numerical graphs put users in command of their own information access experience. In one quick glance, users can see the entire data set organized for easy drill-down and navigation that zeroes in on what they are looking for and helps weed out irrelevant information.

Relevancy

Velocity offers a way for organizations to maximize user satisfaction by modifying the relevancy in which information is displayed.  Although information is available in real time, date of creation may not be the most relevant way to show information.  Administrators can configure their solution to display their information by a number of parameters to include word proximity, synonyms, source, link analysis, freshness and more.  Velocity also offers a multitude of additional relevancy controls to fine-tune this critical element of the user experience.
