Raul Valdes-Perez, president and co-founder of Vivisimo, is a Carnegie Mellon University faculty member. Pittsburgh-based Vivisimo employs six people.
Formerly called Discovery 123 Inc., Vivisimo received a $100,000 investment in June 2000 from Innovation Works, a regional development nonprofit that funds new technology ventures in Western Pennsylvania.
